Run Too Far 03:40
Climb inside the box and let me saw you in half I'd hide my inhibitions but there's nowhere to start In the suspense of the moment I can feel your heart stop It's a terrible beauty but it's all that I've got God knows we are looking for the self same thing Yet I fear all the attachment and the terror that brings Creeps into a part of me and makes itself known I can't hide behind silence I can never say no And it's the same thing It's the same where you are And never changing We'll get lost if we run too far And it's the same thing It's the same where you are Every first impression makes a terrible start Can't abide old imitations so I'll leave them to rot I cannot silence the hum oh that impossible sound I'm relieved when I find out that it's the only way out So climb inside the box and let me saw you in half Hard-wired my inhibitions so there's nowhere to start I saw the flight of the bird I saw the crack in the fault line The reign of destruction and the dust from the landmine And it's the same thing It's the same shift where you are And never changing We'll get lost if we run too far And it's the same thing It's the same where you are I see the fault line I see the fault line I've known the sacrifice yeah I can tell you love me but it fills me with dread I can tell you love me but it fills me with dread And it's the same thing It's the same shift where you are I can tell you love me but it fills me with dread I can tell you love me but it fills me with dread

about

Ruminating on the risk and reward that love brings, ‘Run Too Far’ is a propulsive, powerful rock song with prog and electronic elements, reminiscent of Everything Everything, Lewis Del Mar and Radiohead.

Backed by syncopated guitar lines and clattering drums, Jay Plent’s rapid-fire vocals reference Yeats, the dread of falling in love, and the art of sawing a woman in half.

The song continues SCATTERCHILD’s evolving discipline of angular emotional music, combining the aggression and excitement of their dense arrangements with delicate vulnerable moments that strip that all back and leave the vocals nowhere to hide.

'Parallel Lines' is propulsive to the nth degree. Fast and ferocious, it is the most intense release Scatterchild have committed to yet.
